The ECU also controls other systems such as the ABS, traction control, and stability control. It is possible to repair a failing ECU, but it is usually not cost-effective. The ECU is a complex piece of equipment, and the cost of repairing it is often similar to the cost of buying a new one. In most cases, it is better to simply replace the ECU if it fails.
