Released at the 2009 Geneva Motor Show by Aston Martins CEO, Dr. Ulrich Benz, the Aston Martin V12 Vantage combined the best chassis from the V8 Vantage and the most powerful V12 engine from the DBS to create the best car ever made by Aston Martin at the time.
Designed to deliver the ultimate driving experience, every component was carefully considered to enhance performance and agility. With a top speed of 190 mph, acceleration of 0-60 mph in 4.2 seconds, and every inch of the car oozing class and luxury this was every driver's GT dream!
A unique addition to the V12 Vantage was the “Sport” button which with a single push can allow drivers to choose between two powertrain modes - “normal” mode and “sport” mode.
What certainly makes the V12 Vantage distinctively different from the V8 Vantage are the four carbon fiber stripes on the bonnet which are unofficially known as the “Marmite vents” and were introduced to aid engine cooling.
The interior of the V12 Vantage was designed to enhance the driver's experience with a focus on creating the ideal environment for maximum concentration and limited distraction, this included a clearer instrument cluster with Organic Electroluminescent (OEL) displays and a multi-function steering wheel.
Carbon fiber on the door pulls, soft leather seats and high-quality lightweight materials like Alcantara were used to save weight in the cabin and give an impeccable finish to the car.
In its 3 years of production, the Aston Martin V12 Vantage exceeded its initial suggested 1000 examples and actually built 1199 over this period before being replaced by the more powerful V12 Vantage S model.
